WHAT WE DO
Collegiants is, first and foremost, a network of tutors, educators, and advisors with profoundly deep and diverse academic backgrounds. Our tutors are professional teachers, professors, and educators who are experts in the tests and subjects they teach. In addition, the Collegiants administrative team has years of experience guiding families through the college admissions process, including diagnosing the proper exams to pursue and helping students develop their own voice in college essays.

Meet Our Tutors
Christine L.
is a native Mandarin speaker, teacher, and tutor with vast international experience. After receiving her BA, she spent six years working as a recruiter in Hong Kong, Malaysia, and New York before moving into the world of Mandarin and Math education. Christine has taught Mandarin at Trinity, Spence, P.S. 6, Brearley, and most recently at The École. She is an expert at teaching the AP Mandarin, TOCFL, HSK, and other Mandarin tests and served as one of the premier professional Mandarin tutors at Manhattan Mandarin in New York. Christine speaks five languages fluently and conveys her passion for language learning with all of her students, many of whom she has worked with for years.
Chase C.
is a tutor and admissions consultant with over 6 years of experience tutoring AP, IB, AICE, along with standardized test preparation. He is a graduate of Northwestern University working towards an M.S. in mechanical engineering. Chase graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA along with an IB Diploma, scoring amongst the top 2% of test takers worldwide. Chase scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT, received a perfect score on the ACT, and scored a 4 or a 5 on fourteen AP Exams, earning him over 20 college scholarships. Chase prides himself in his student-centered teaching methods which focus on enhancing his clients’ understandings based on their own unique learning styles and intuitions.
Matthew C.
is a graduate of Cornell University with nearly 5 years of tutoring experience. He graduated High School with a 4.0 GPA, and is a proponent of starting the college process early, having reached his testing goals in just his sophomore year. Since high school, he has worked with students at all levels, coaching them to success on the SAT, ACT, and other tests while also providing expert academic guidance in Chemistry, Math, and English. Matthew approaches his tutoring with a combination of both academic specificity and stress minimization that makes his clients feel more comfortable from the get go. When he is not tutoring, you can find him acting in several films, television pilots, and plays.
Dane L.
has tutored chemistry, mathematics, Latin, and test prep for over 15 years and graduated from Tufts University with a B.Sc. in chemistry. He strives to be pragmatic about the challenges his clients face, and is a firm believer in giving students open-minded options to explore at every juncture of their collaboration. His teaching style is centered around patient empathy - Dane guarantees sessions where students have the freedom to be themselves and speak honestly about their next steps. Creativity, flexibility, and optimism are the qualities he most values in an instructor.
Ethan H.
is an experienced tutor for Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics, and the SAT, ACT, and SHSAT. He graduated from the Bronx High School of Science with accolades in the Physical and Biological Sciences, awards in English and Economics, and a 4.0 GPA and is currently studying Mathematical Physics at Princeton University. By focusing on the thinking process behind standardized tests he has achieved perfect scores on multiple SAT subject tests, AP tests and a 1590 on the SAT, and helped students improve their grades and succeed into getting into their dream schools. Outside of tutoring, he conducts independent research and participates in several sports.
Lisa M.
is a French native who studied French literature at La Sorbonne in Paris. She started tutoring French in college and is still enjoying it today! Since she moved to the US in 2004, she has tutored students from various Middle and High Schools in New Jersey and New York City, such as Horace Mann, Trinity, and Bronx Science. Knowing how challenging it is to learn a new language, she adapts her lessons to match each student's learning style while effectively teaching conversation, pronunciation, grammar, reading, literature and French culture. She also prepares students for standardized tests, such as the AP French exam. Outside of tutoring, Lisa is deeply passionate about art has even worked as an artist agent and as an assistant at art galleries.
